New Car Soon...

Everything has started to line up to the point where I'll finally be able to get myself a new car and say goodbye to that Cavalier, finally. I've still got my eye on the 2011 Scion tC. Although nothing is confirmed until I test drive it.

Although the problem still lingers: new or used? New brings a higher monthly payment but fewer issues mechanically... so many choices.

Changing Jobs

Just got word that I got the job I was going out for. Things are really looking up right now. It's always a tough decision to change jobs but I had to consider what was best for my future... and my present quite honestly.

So good time ahead for all!

The move is over!

As of Sunday we're officially moved in to our new place. So far the only complaint I have about the new complex is the parking. Other than that it's better in every way than living at the previous house.

It's rather nice having the largest bedroom, closet and bathroom that I've ever had :) Although now I'm not quite sure what to do with all the extra room. Maybe I'll head out and pick up some new furniture.

Gears of War 3!

So, we all knew it was coming but last night on Jimmy Fallon, Cliff Bleszinski officially announced it. He even showed off a trailer for the game. The trailer is rather surreal, similar to the first trailers for the first two games so it fits right in line.

Dom has a beard now so that tells us some time has passed and Cliff confirmed via Twitter that the blonde girl is Anya; playable? I doubt it seeing as the previous 4 are back but playable in multiplayer? There's a possibility.

It'll be a long wait until April 2011...

Work continues on my new portfoio site...

Redesigning a site; the joys of looking at some previous work you've done and saying to yourself, "Wow, this sucks. I need to redo it." Over the last month or so I've been throwing together ideas and designs to turn what was, basically, a portfolio site for a fresh college graduate into a site worthy of someone who's been in the industry for a few years.

I've started to link all my social sites together with an orange/black/gray theme. The orange and gray go together really well I've found when used in the right amounts. The biggest thing I want to accomplish with it is improving on the functionality of the site as a whole. Adding in a contact form on the contact me page for instance.

As long as I can devote a little time after work and on the weekends I'm looking to launch the new site this month. Good things ahead!

Photoshop Failures

This one goes out to all the graphic designers I know. When you're learning Photoshop, it's a process of mastering one technique and then learning something new; a step by step process. In the professional world you gather all these skills together and utilize the finer techniques to make some wonderful imagery.

Or, like these designers, you cut corners and ACT like a Photoshop professional when you're not, lol.

IE9

So, Internet Explorer 9 hit this week; well, the beta for it did anyways. It seems pretty nice, a much needed speed increase over 8. Although, it's still slower than both Firefox and Chrome.

I am happy to see that they're starting to add in HTML5 integration. It'll be a work in progress since HTML5 isn't even finished yet but it's good to know that once it does hit all the major browsers will already support it. Will it be the end of Flash? Let's collectively hope so...

Here's one for all you gamers...

Gamestop is offering an extra 50% trade in value on ALL GAMES through March 14th. Dust off the old stuff and take it in.

I took in Army of Two: The Fortieth Day, Brutal Legend and Dragonball Raging Blast and got $75 for the 3 of them. 3 games (2 of which weren't even remotely new) were able to get me Heavy Rain and STILL get $12 in credit on the card.

And the blogging begins!

So, after looking into the blogging side of life for a while I've decided to give it a try.
